Security, Safety & Health Manager
Job Specification:
The Security, Safety & Health or SSH Manager oversees the general operations of the Security Department and ensures that the Hotel and its immediate vicinity are secure, safe and healthy for staff, guests, contractors and suppliers. The Manager effectively provides and manages security, health and safety services throughout the Hotel including guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house or staff areas, ensuring strict compliance with the policies, standards and procedures practiced in the Hotel and the provisions of the laws governing security, safety and health in the work place.
Main responsibilities are:
- As Chairman of the Hotel’s OSHA Committee, holds regular committee meetings and lead sany efforts at promoting safety practices in the workplace and in complying with the provisions of OSHA and the Food Act.
- Ensures the Security Team is motivated and effective in providing security services to guests and staff in a timely manner.
- Leads the Hotel’s Emergency Response Team (ERT) in the event of an emergency that may or may not involve an evacuation of the Hotel building.
- Ensures the ERT members are well-trained in fire fighting, evacuation procedures and basic first aid
- Effective liaises with the relevant Government officers, e.g. BOMBA< Ministry of Health, DBKL, PDRM, etc
- Plans, implements and evaluates the utilization of the department’s annual budget.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in a related field
- Minimum 5 years experience managing the Security, Safety & Health department of an organization, preferably a hotel or resort
- Attended relevant courses in OSHA and training programs with BOMBA
- Computer literate, proficient in Microsoft Office and operating a CCTV system.
- Fluent in English and Bahasa Malayisa, both spoken and written.
- Between 35-45 years of age, healthy and physically fit with strong analytical skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with staff, work colleagues and guests.
