Swinburne Sarawak seeks suitably qualified candidates for the following position:

System Administrator (Linux)
(Sarawak)

Responsibilities:
The position will be responsible for the following:

A) LINUX ADMINISTRATION:

- Provide high level support of the University’s production, test and development Linux systems.
- Manage the installation and maintenance of complex software packages on various Linux systems to assist in application support, development and research.
- Implement and maintain new hardware and software technologies to support the requirements of the organisation.

B) APPLICATION SUPPORT:

- Provide a high-level of support for various third-party software applications and services running on the Linux/Unix platform, including Blackboard and Oracle.
- Work with various internal staff and contractors to install and maintain various applications and services running on the Linux/Unix platform.

C) MONITORING AND TUNING:

Monitor various Linux systems and applications and take appropriate steps to ensure a high-level of security, system performance and resource utilisation is maintained.

Requirements:

- The successful applicant must have at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in LINUX/UNIX infrastructure systems administration preferably in a Red Hat Linux environment.
- The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining production systems that include Apache Web Server, Radius Authentication Server, Squid Proxy server, BIND DNS and DHCP server.

Network Administrator (Cisco)
(Sarawak)

Responsibilities:
The position will be responsible for the following:
- Configuring and managing Cisco catalyst 4000 / 6000 series switches
- Configuring VLANs on Cisco catalyst switches
- Implementing Cisco IOS routing features
- Configuring Cisco Wireless AP & Clients
- Managing performance of the University’s network infrastructure to ensure 99.5% uptime
- Developing, implementing and enforcing the University’s security policies
- Developing a Disaster Recovery Plan for the University’s network infrastructure
- Implementing Cisco CallManager services

Requirements:
- The successful applicant must have at least 5 years of experience in supporting Cisco switching & routing in an enterprise environment.
- This senior position will be responsible for managing Cisco Catalyst 4000 / 6000 switches, ASA 5540 appliance, configuring VLANs / WLAN, implementing Cisco IOS routing features and VoIP services.
- A Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) certification will be ideal.
