Assistant Vice President – Technical Purchasing & Logistics

Job Responsibilities :

- To lead & maintain the procurement management operating system of Technical Purchasing and Logistics & Warehouse department including setting procurement goals, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), developing innovative & ongoing cost reduction strategies and ensuring all SC Policy & Procedures are complied with.
- Review of Purchasing Agreement related to all form of purchases and services
- Ensure corrective actions are taken on incidences that deviate from targets and standards.
- Lead Cost Savings Task Teams and other saving initiatives for continuous improvement on cost management.
- Adhere the department policies and procedures comprising all purchasing activities
- Ensure proper checks and balances to minimize abuse, fraud and incidences in SC policies and procedures.
- Manage sourcing activities and supplier base effectively in line with new market penetration, relocation exercises, economic factors and market trends, etc.
- Participate in evaluation of purchasing departmental policies and procedures, proposals, negotiations and make recommendations to the Purchasing Committee on the selection of suppliers and contract awards.
- Analyze the business needs & users’ requirements and offer potentially better options available to all users.
- Conduct site visit with users to evaluate suppliers’ creditability standing, hygiene and product recommendations.
- Manage Technical Purchasing and Logistics & Warehouse resources and allocate budget based on existing financial reporting and control.

Job Requirements :
- Degree holder or possess a professional Marine Engineer or Deck Officer Certificate of Competency with sea going experience.
- At least 5 years’ experience in Purchasing in the Marine field.
- Associate with a Professional Body.
- Good leadership, management and analytical skills.
- Able to plan, organise, implement and control various programmes for improvements.
